Professional Thoroseal waterproof coating for masonry walls
Why Choose Allstate?
Professional Thorocoating in NYC
Thorocoating (Thoroseal) is a cementitious waterproofing coating that bonds directly to masonry surfaces to stop water penetration. Allstate Construction applies Thoroseal to basement walls, retaining walls, CMU blocks, and exterior masonry surfaces as both a waterproofing layer and a finished protective coating. It is one of the most trusted waterproofing products for NYC masonry buildings.
The Allstate Difference
We are certified applicators of Thoroseal by BASF and have applied the product to over 150 NYC masonry structures. We follow BASF application guidelines precisely — no cutting corners.

First Coat
Thoroseal mixed to proper consistency and scrubbed into damp surface with stiff brush for maximum penetration.
Second Coat
Second coat applied after first coat is set but still green for a monolithic waterproofing layer.
Curing
Coating kept damp for 72 hours during cure. Fully cured and waterproof within 28 days.
Common Questions About Thorocoating
Thoroseal is a cementitious coating that chemically bonds to masonry and bridges hairline cracks. Waterproof paint sits on the surface and peels when hydrostatic pressure builds. Thoroseal is a true waterproofing system.
Not directly. Active leaks must first be stopped with hydraulic cement. Once water entry is stopped, Thoroseal is applied over the repaired area.
Two coats are standard for waterproofing. Areas with higher water pressure may require a third coat or an elastomeric top coat.
